2016 - It all started with a 12 year old girl named Chloe. She begged her parents for years about having a rabbit for a pet. My wife and I were consistent with our response of “no”, but she wore us down. We ended up making a deal with her on purchasing the rabbit. Chloe had to research the breed that she wanted; save enough money to pay for the rabbit; and then she could make that last step of purchasing her very own rabbit. My wife and I thought that this would be the nail in the coffin. We were never more wrong. A few months later Chloe had saved the money and picked the breed. She had researched the care of rabbits and everything that there was to know about rabbits. We were impressed with her determination. So, to make a long story short, we went to a local pet store and bought a cage, toys, food, and a broken opal Mini-Lop doe named Elena. Chloe paid for all of it! She was so happy that she cried when we got in the truck. It was then that I knew how deep her passion was for these amazing little bundles of fur. Chloe continued taking great care of Elena and continued her study of rabbits. I wish I had a quarter for every time that I heard the question “Hey Dad, did you know this about rabbits?” My wife took Chloe to our local fair (South Mountain Fair) the same year Chloe bought Elena. That is where they learned of the local 4-H rabbit club. They reached out to the 4-H leaders and the rest is history. The more my wife and I learned about rabbits from the 4-H meetings, the more interested we were in rabbits. We have been blessed with a wonderful 4-H program that is comprised of caring, knowledgeable people. We would not be where we are today without the support of the rabbit club. I also am so thankful to all the fantastic breeder’s that we have met and bought rabbits from to get our breed stock started. They were willing to help us in any way that they could. They are truly fountains of knowledge with years of experience. Even though we are a young rabbitry, we feel that we have some great breed stock to start our own lines of quality rabbits in the breeds we raise. Through rabbits, we have met some amazing people; they drew us closer to our community; and introduced us to a world we never knew existed. We hope that the youth of our rabbitry does not deter you from giving us a try, and make sure that you meet our CEO, Chloe.
